A Sevier County man will spend the next 40 years in prison after being convicted Thursday of two counts of rape of child under 13 years old, authorities said.
Jonathan Ryan Lewis, 31, pleaded guilty as a part of a plea agreement that will not allow him the opportunity for parole.
The Kodak man initially was charged with 34 counts of child rape and faced up to 63 years in prison, according to Sevierville Police Detective Kevin Bush.
Lewis was indicted in 2013 on multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child for allegedly taking inappropriate photos of a child.
An investigation by Sevierville police, with the assistance of the Knoxville Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, revealed that Lewis had repeated raped a boy under 13 over a one-year period.
